I don't know what your build is but I found a high damage weapon very helpful - I used the dragon bone smasher. Several times I had like 90 second stretches where nothing happened at all, just waiting for them to be in just the right position. I notice on occasion, usually after flying around a bit, they will land and remain stationary. The Maneater isn't the smartest of creatures. I use primarily melee and arrows, so naturally I popped the first guy from behind the gate, then took the second head on. It's a valuable trick and one that certainly makes the fight feel a lot more possible for those struggling. It's possible to cheese the fight a bit - you can shoot arrows through the fog gate and take out the first before you even trigger the encounter. Their attacks are powerful and it's possible to be knocked back, and then hit a second and even a third time before you get chance to stand right back up. Fighting one of these things is a challenge in itself, but two? Charging straight in, sword in hand might not be your best option here. I'm interested to hear how people tackled this particularly tricky boss encounter. It's like a gang bang of death and you're stuck in the middle of it.
